Daywise Itinerary

Arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the most scenic airports in the Himalayas. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day relaxing and preparing for the adventure ahead.

Visit the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched dramatically on a cliff. Explore local temples, markets, and cultural sites while allowing your body to adjust to the altitude.

Drive to Shana and begin your trek along the Paro River. The trail passes through dense forests and small settlements, offering a gentle introduction to the journey.

Follow the river through pine and rhododendron forests, with glimpses of snow-capped peaks emerging in the distance.

Gradually ascend to Jangothang, one of the most beautiful campsites, offering stunning views of Mount Jomolhari.

Spend the day exploring nearby ridges and valleys. This helps your body adapt to the altitude while enjoying incredible mountain scenery.

Cross your first high mountain passes with breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Descend to Lingshi village and visit its historic dzong.

Descend into a quiet valley and visit Chebisa village, known for its traditional lifestyle and scenic beauty.

Climb gradually through varied terrain with chances to spot wildlife such as blue sheep and marmots.

Cross rugged high passes surrounded by dramatic landscapes and towering peaks.

Descend through rocky terrain into greener valleys, experiencing a shift in landscape.

Reach Laya, a unique highland village where people wear distinctive traditional dress and maintain a rich cultural heritage.

Continue trekking through remote high-altitude trails with stunning mountain backdrops.

Climb to higher elevations, entering a more rugged and dramatic landscape.

Cross high passes above 5,000 meters before descending into the remote Lunana region.

Trek through isolated valleys and experience life in one of Bhutan’s most remote areas.

Follow river valleys and pass through small settlements, interacting with local communities.

Arrive at Thanza village, one of the main settlements in Lunana, surrounded by towering peaks including Gangkar Puensum.

Complete the trek and begin your return journey by road or domestic transfer, depending on conditions.
